I was finally able to do my hour of yoga again — the last time I went was 11 days ago, and I missed it! So relaxing. Above is the camel pose, which I didn’t think I’d be able to get into but was able to by pushing my hips against the studio mirror for balance.
I also learned something very disturbing/interesting. I have a Tanita body fat monitor scale at home that has metal plates you step on, and it’s supposed to send an electrical current through your body and tell you your body fat percentage. For the past three years or so (when I was sedentary and now when I’m exercising regularly), it’s told me my body fat was 32% or 33%. That always seemed high. I finally asked the trainer at the gym to measure it with his handheld device, and guess what he came up with? 21.3%! How ridiculously off is my scale?!
